Security Update for .NET Framework (3156757) rated Important breaks internal conferencing for Lync Server 2010, 2013 and Skype for Business users.

Clients, installing Microsoft .NET Framework Security Update MS16-065 on a Front End or Standard Edition server for Lync Server 2010, Lync Server 2013, or Skype for Business Server 2015, reported that they can’t connect to certain conferencing modalities.

Moreover, Lync Web App may not function correctly in a Lync Server 2010 environment.

The Resolution:

  • Uninstall the KB3142030 from your Front-end Servers , then reboot all servers (this is what we did and worked   )
  • The other option is to modify the registry, please backup the registry before editing and/or contact your IT Administration staff.
  • We need to modify the registry to Disable SCH_SEND_AUX_RECORD, for the Lync Server Web Conferencing Server on the Front-End Servers.
  • Add the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ Microsoft\.NETFramework\< version_number>\System.Net. ServicePointManager. SchSendAuxRecord

  • Create a new DWORD, where the name is the Fully qualified path for the application .exe ie.(C:\Program Files\Microsoft Lync Server 2013\Web Conferencing\DataMCUSvc.exe)

  • Reboot the Front-end Servers.
